Luxury Kefalonia Holidays
Kefalonia is made up of forests, breathtaking mountains and high cliffs dropping down to glittering azure seas. Kefalonia towns are friendly and small enough to get round with no hassle. Tourists come from all over the world for the breathtaking natural scenery and views.
There are many resorts in Kefalonia including the popular Argostoli and Skala. Lixouri is the island's second city and faces the capital, Argostoli, across the bay. Argostoli has so much to do but is also the perfect place to relax. There are shops, restaurants and bars found in the town and along the coast. Argostoli is home to the most popular beach in Kefalonia, described as “a little piece of heaven” – Myrtos. Lassi also features two of the most popular sandy beaches – Makrys Gialos and Platys Gialos.
At the northern tip of the island, Fiskardo is popular with yachts and holds a lot of the 5 star hotels. Fiskardo is the only part of the island which survived the earthquakes of the last century intact, but extensive refurbishment and repairs have given it a rather bijoux feel. Poros, further to the south, is rather self-contained between the sea and mountains, and has a substantial ferry port slightly separated from the rest of the town.
