Firostefani is the natural extension of Fira and the most beautiful "suburb" of island's capital. Following the path, always having at your side the volcano, the caldera and the sea, you arrive at Fira in 10 minutes. Fira is one of the most elegant resorts in Santorini with beautiful views across the sea.
Firostefani lies to the north of Fira and there is little that separates it from it considerable larger neighbour. As with Fira the views from this part of Santorini are spectacular but the town are higher up so offer a different perspective of the volcano. It is a superb place to enjoy the sunset in the evening and a fantastic place for a romantic break away.
Between the village of Firostefani and Imerovigli lies the Agios Nikolas Monastry. The largish building with its typically Cycladic rounded edges. Depending where you are inside you can look to the east side of the island or to the volcano and beyond.
Firostefani contain a number of hotels. Both are picturesque and have a nice blend of cream and white variations in the colouring of the houses. Away from the cliff side view Firostefani has a less stunning part as well.
