A Luxury Holiday to Santorini

Inspired Luxury Escapes

One of the main things to consider when taking a holiday on Santorini is where on the Island to stay?  There are properties in the towns along the cliff with the stunning views looking down into the caldera, where Fira, Oia, Imerovigli, and Firostefani are situated, or on the opposite east side where the island slopes down to the beaches there are 2 main towns to stay at which are Kamari and Perissa.  Kamari has the most hotels, shops, bars and restaurants. Perissa is a little quieter but no less charming. There’s also a boat you can take between Kamari and Perissa so you can visit both in one day.A great choice for a luxury stay in Kamari is the La Mer Deluxe Hotel & Spa, the location is great - it’s just a short walk from the beach, which is mostly pebbles so beach shoes are definitely recommended.  The hotel's architecture including the patio is outstanding, the rooms are very modern in style and equipped with all possible luxuries, some feature Jacuzzis. There are also Spa facilities at the hotel available to guests.  The La Mer Deluxe Hotel is not overly large so always feels cosy & friendly, this is also due to the hotel staff, as they are so friendly and always go the extra mile to be helpful. You can also take a trip to Fira from here, it is just a 20 minute bus ride. Here is where you can enjoy some of the islands stunning views and scenery, particularly at sunset. If you stay along the Caldera.  The main towns are Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli, and Oia.  Fira is the biggest town on the island so if you are looking to find the majority of the islands nightlife scene it will mostly be here. Definitely consider staying at the Cosmopolitan Suites a small boutique property with a traditional feel and only around 10 rooms in total.  It has an excellent location in Fira, close to the cable car & the shops and bars in town.  One of the main reasons for staying here is it’s infinity pool with jaw dropping views of the Caldera and Volcano.  Rooms are simple and very clean and staff so helpful and friendly.A luxury holiday to Santorini is a wonderful island with a vast array of hotels available. Whether travelling alone, as a couple on a romantic luxury break or the annual family holiday – the Greek island of Santorini is a delightful choice.

There’s so many reasons why the Algarve makes for a perfect holiday destination from its rugged coastline, delicious Portuguese cuisine, fantastic year-round Mediterranean climate and not forgetting the array of 4 & 5* luxury hotels here. Well known for its family-friendly, soft sanded beaches and quiet coves where you can sit back, relax and watch the sunset, the Algarve really does have it all suiting all types of visitors from families to couples. The short flight time from London to Faro is just 3 hours meaning it’s ideal for young families and older travellers. With a flight time as short as that, you can get to your hotel by midday and get straight to explore the Algarve – there’s plenty to do and see! The kayak and snorkel trip in Lagos is a must but being one of the most popular excursions in the Algarve it does get booked up quickly. The alluring sea caves, grottoes and unparalleled views are just outstanding – great for a real thrill seeker. The private tour to Portimao by Motorcycle for wine tasting and tapas is perfect for those looking to enjoy a more cultured view of the Algarve and gives you a chance to see some of the best-loved spots of Portimao & Alvor. Home to the world-famous peri-peri chicken, it’s essential you take a pit stop and taste the traditional food in one of their local ‘shacks’. Marinated in a strong red coloured sauce, the slightly sweet tasting chicken is deliciously mouth-watering and accompanied perfectly with a pita and salad. It is just another reason to visit the ever popular Algarve. The amazing choice of 5* hotels in the Algarve is another reason to make it your choice of destination in 2017. A Luxury Holiday to Madeira

Inspired Luxury Escapes

Any holiday in Madeira, regardless of it being a luxury one is a fantastic experience, with around a 4-hour flight, the adventure begins on your approach to the island, spectacular scenery greets you from the moment you set eyes on it. Here at Inspired Luxury Escapes we are delighted to partner a vast array of wonderful 5 Star hotels all of which are highly rated on Trip Advisor. Boasting exclusive offers at most of these properties, a holiday to Madeira is a fantastic choice throughout the year. There is a vast amount of luxury hotels on the island that have gained a worldwide reputation for quality and service, having recently toured around them I can safely say you won’t be disappointed with where you decide to stay but would safely recommend the Vidamar Resort due to its fantastic position and stunning ocean views. Also, why not try the Pestana CR7, the hotel dedicated to local boy Cristiano Ronaldo, if you stay here you will gain free entry to the museum dedicated to the world-class player.Average temperatures in Madeira do not go below 16C even in winter and I can confirm this as when I was there in October the temperature was a comfortable climate to sit by the pool or take one of the many adventure trips around the island. One highlight is the tour of the islands highest peak – a breath-taking experience with incredible views of delightful Madeira. You are not short of quality food to eat here, a specialty on the island is its fish dishes but you can still find traditional meat dishes including beef, pork and chicken. An absolute must when in Madeira is a drink of the world-famous Madeira wine produced from the many vineyards all over the island. To sum up, Madeira is definitely the place to go at the minute and would recommend this to anyone who seeks adventure coupled together with a luxurious hotel stay.
