The Pestana Fisherman Village – Boutique Hotel is located in the picturesque historic centre of this town, surrounded by the sea and protected by the hillsides of banana plantations. This new addition to Câmara de Lobos is located in one of the main streets, close to the entertainment and commerce that is characteristic of this location.

The 42-room hotel is located in two buildings where a new wing is included, now restored, the original dimensions and features of its architecture have been maintained, contrasting with a light and functional style of decor. The Pestana Fisherman Village – Boutique Hotel offers several living rooms: a library, a cloister, a patio with a water mirror and a terrace with a panoramic swimming pool. In addition to these leisure spaces, it also includes an Interpretative Centre for Fishing and Fishermen.

Its prime location, the level of service and the desire to celebrate the authenticity of the location have all led to the well-deserved integration of this hotel into the Pestana Hotels & Resorts brand.

Upon entering the Pestana Fisherman Village – Boutique Hotel, you will immediately notice its vaulted ceilings and the original stones, recently discovered, that enrich the style of the most contemporary of decors. A welcoming environment in light tones where dark blue is the main theme.

There are several rooms in which to enjoy the space, as well as a library, but one’s attention is drawn to the sound of water from the cloister fountain, producing an atmosphere of calm. The service is informal and offers a breakfast that you can enjoy in one of the rooms or in this outdoor location.

ROOM

The 42 rooms are decorated in light tones, such as white and beige, contrasting with some decorative elements such as the sofas in dark blue, calling to mind the deep blue of the sea. Of particular note are the headrests that display a very special letter, an invitation written by Ernest Hemingway in 1947. Equipped to ensure quality and comfort during your stay, all the rooms are equipped with a plasma TV, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, minibar, sound-proof windows and bathroom with a shower. Comfortable and contemporary, these rooms are enhanced by the breathtaking landscape that, by opening the white painted windows, you can appreciate the picture postcard view of the blue of the sea punctuated by the decorative roofs of the town’s typical houses, or the green of the banana plantations.

A delicious breakfast is served on the ground floor, next to the reception area. The buffet breakfast service is a more casual option and you can choose the best place to start the day. For Lunches and Dinners, you will be invited to go to Pier One on the top floor of the Pestana Churchill Bay, which serves typical specialities of Madeira à la carte . And if you wish to enjoy a snack at any time of the day, guests and visitors also have a service available at the Dock Bar, where sits a bronze statue of Winston Churchill, after whom the hotel is named. This bar is also renowned for its punches and nikitas, typical drinks of the fishing bay.

The Pestana Fisherman Village – Boutique Hotel also features an exclusive swimming pool for guests on the top floor where you can take in the local landscape. And to learn more about the local fishermen’s history and tradition, it would be possible to view the permanent exhibition at the Interpretative Centre for Fishing and Fishermen, located in the hotel itself.
